Department: Student Affairs
Nature of Duties: The Admissions Counselor provides introduction and guidance to applicants and students in the areas of admissions policies and procedures, placement testing, vocational/program choice and financial aid opportunities. Performs recruitment activities, administers placement testing, evaluates records to determine eligibility for program choice and assigns admissions status.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, *and* experience in college admissions counseling and/or processing. Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and computer skills required.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to applicants with a master’s degree and/or BANNER experience.
Applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet customer needs.
Salary/Benefits: Salary range is commensurate with previous work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, vacation, retirement, personal and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
