You can help today by making a general donation to the Foundation or to any of our numerous scholarships and programs. All contributions to the Foundation can be made by cash, check, credit card (MasterCard, Visa) or by bequest at any time during the year. Annual Fund Campaigns
Each year alumni and friends are asked to donate to the Annual Fund Campaign. The Annual Fund is the unrestricted campaign conducted by West Central Technical College annually. Because these gifts allow flexibility in the use of the funds, they are used for programs and projects which have the greatest need. Some of the programs and projects supported by the Annual Fund gifts include scholarships, student emergency fund, library enhancement, technology improvements and faculty enrichment grants.

Faculty and Staff Campaigns
Annually faculty and staff are asked to contribute to the Foundation. Their participation and support provide a concrete expression of their belief in the College. A high level of participation from faculty and staff members demonstrates their commitment to the College, which has a positive impact on corporations, foundations and the community.

Named Scholarships
Many friends and alumni make contributions to the WCTC FOUNDATION in memory or honor of a family member or a friend through the establishment of an endowed scholarship. An endowed scholarship can be established by a contribution of $10,000 or more. This endowment is perpetual because only the income is used each year. An endowed scholarship is an excellent way to honor someone because the fund lives forever.

Planned Gifts
A planned gift is the process through which a gift is pledged but may be completely or partially deferred until sometime in the future.
- A bequest through a will which is an example of a planned gift allows a donor to decide on a contribution years in advance.
- The purchase of a life insurance policy naming the Foundation as the owner is an additional type of planned gift. This method of giving makes it possible for the donor to make premium payments which are tax-deductible.
- Establishing a charitable remainder trust is another planned giving opportunity which allows a donor to make a gift now while receiving a life income. The trust also provides the donor income tax benefits.
- Appreciated Assets donating assets that have increased greatly in value over the years will enable you to receive an income tax deduction and minimize the capital gains tax otherwise owed on the appreciated asset. Gifts of securities, mutual funds, real estate and collections such as art, coins and stamps can also provide a life income trust, thus directly benefiting the donor and the Foundation.
- Gifts In Trust you can provide for a future gift for the Foundation simply and easily by placing the words "in trust for the WCTC Foundation" on a bank account or mutual fund account. This avoids probate costs and helps to reduce any possible inheritance taxes. You can alter or revoke the account as you wish and you continue to retain full ownership and control.

Corporation and Foundation Support
Corporation and foundation support is an important resource for higher education. They can provide funds for facilities, for special programs, seminars and research projects, for equipment, for scholarships and they can encourage their employees to give through their matching gift programs. The West Central Technical College actively pursues the cultivation and development of partnerships with Corporations for mutual benefit, and it seeks to serve other foundations in meeting their mission.

Gifts-in-Kind
One of the ways to support the College is with a “gift-in-kind.” Examples of this type of gift include building materials, architectural services and real estate. The donor must take the responsibility of assessing the value of their “gift-in-kind.”

Matching Gifts
Many employers match employee gifts to higher education. Some of the companies match dollar-for-dollar, others match two-for-one and some even match three-for-one. Employees can check with their personnel office to see if the company will match their gift. If the company matches gifts, a matching gift application should be completed and mailed with the donor’s gift.
