Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
The Workforce Investment Act has been implemented to provide a comprehensive, customer-driven training, employment and career development system. WIA was developed to meet the needs of discouraged workers, unemployed and underemployed individuals, as well as workers seeking to enhance their skills for continued career advancement.
Services provided are as follows:
Core Services:
- Provision of labor market information
- Information of job availability
- Adult literacy referral
Intensive Services:
- Individual or group counseling
- Evaluation of workforce preparedness
- Technical training referral
Training Services:
- Individual Training Accounts
- Support Services
The county in which you reside or worked will determine the location of where you apply for Workforce Investment benefits.
- Carroll and Coweta County Residents:

- Haralson County Residents:
