WCTC STUDENT RECEIVES GEORGIA COMMISSION ON WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP

A West Central Technical College radiologic technology student, Laura Hall, was awarded one of six $1,000 Ben Jones Memorial Scholarships last month at the Georgia Commission on Women’s “Woman of the Year” Reception and Dinner. Emory University English professor Natasha Trethewey was honored as the Commission’s Woman of the Year at the July 29 event. Over 55 nominations were received for the six scholarships awarded. West Central Technical College, with campuses in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas and Haralson counties, offers over 90 associate degree, diploma and technical certificate programs of study. A unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, West Central last year served over 10,000 students including credit enrollment, adult education, ESL classes, continuing education and corporate training. West Central is one of the fastest-growing technical colleges in Georgia.
