COWETA STUDENT TO ATTEND EAGLE INSTITUTE
Linh Wight, a GED student in Coweta County, has been chosen to represent West Central Technical College at the EAGLE Leadership Institute February 13-15, 2008.
The Leadership Institute recognizes and honors those students who have demonstrated superior achievement in adult literacy classes and programs.
EAGLE, “Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education,” is the first statewide program in the nation that recognizes and rewards excellence among students enrolled in the adult literacy programs.
This student recognition program is designed to create greater awareness of educational opportunities that are available in local communities across the state and to foster greater involvement in lifelong learning pursuits.
EAGLE is sponsored by the Technical College System of Georgia through its Office of Adult Literacy.
West Central Technical College, with campuses in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas and Haralson counties, offers over 90 associate degree, diploma and technical certificate programs of study. A unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, West Central is the sixth fastest-growing of 33 technical colleges in the state and last year served over 10,000 students including credit enrollment, adult education, ESL classes, continuing education and corporate training.
